Davis, of Christchurch, chairman of directors of the Ross Goldfieldp Company, arrived in Hakitika on Saturday night, and on the following day left for R-o&.« in company with Mr. 11. M. Sraythc, local director. On his return ho was interviewed in regard to developments at tho mine. Mr. Davis stated.that pumping operations were being coutinued, and, although thero was a largo body of water in the Cas.-ius working**, he said that- it was being handled to his complete flitisfoction. In reply to a question a«s to the amount of water actually being dealt with ho said that there were nyw a sufficient number of bores running to keep ono sinking pump and one stationary pump in operation. The actual How from the Cassius workings was about 13C0 callous per minute, which, with the 900 gallons being lifted from the old : ilot?3 workings, total of 22C0 gallons per minute dealt'with by the pumps.
