The vessfl arrived at Westport from Wellington, via way ports, at 8 p.m. on Sunday. On account of a bad bar and heavy sea riie was unable to leave again for Greymout'n. It was hoprd, ho\fcver, thtrt she would be dispatched from Westport at 9 p.m. yesterday, but it was doubtful whether alio would get out. The New Zoaland Shipping Company's cargo-carrier l Kalpara, is due in port today to complete loading for London. She sails hence on Thursday, June 5.
The F- and B..Line's steamer Surrey left the Bluff on Sunday for Waitara. From the latter port she proceeds to Wan-gunui and Wellington, being due here on June 10. On June 12. the Surrey leaves for Timaru and Lyttoiton. She m to sail dually from tlio latter port for Avonmouth on June 20.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co,, local agents, advise that the Manganapa, will leave Wellington for Karamea and Wcstport tomorrow.

The United States nrobablv will not patrol the North Atlantic steamship lane for icebergs in view of the action of the British Board of Trade and British steamship interests in sending the whaler s'cotia, for the patrol. The New York Maritime Exchange 'Strongly urged tho Treasury Department to assign revenue cutters to the work, but Secretary M'Adoo thinks the British action sufficient.
