LONDON PERSONALS. . London, April 24. On Tuesday of last week, Mr. J. Cathcart Wason, M.P. (late ot New Zealand) and Sirs. Wason entertained, on behalf of the Empiro Parliamentary Association's Executive Committee in tho Home Pailiament, a largo party of members of tho association at tea in tho Harcourt Room of the House of Commons, in order to bid farewell to the Hon, J. Allen, Mrs. and Miss Allen, who left for New Zealand on Friday. Mr. Millar D. Dunning, of Auckland, has arrived in London.

Mr. J. Maclean, Inspector of the National Bank of New Zealand, has arrived in England on a six months' holiday.

A whist drive is to be held by tho New Zealand Association at the Westminster Palace Hotel, on Wednesday, April 30. The Hon. W. Pcinber Reeves, late Agent-General for New Zealand, has been le-olected as member of tho Senate of London University.

The Misses M. and A. Yonge, of Auckland, will remain in London until June. They will then travel through the South of England.

Bishop Grimes, of Christchurch, was a passenger by the Medina, for Rome, where he will pay a visit to the Pope. Mr. Manning, of Duuedin, and his two daughters are, now staying in London for a low weeks before touring England, Scotland, Ireland; Wales, Norway, and tho Continent.

Air. and Mrs. 11. B. Eglinlon, of Hawke's Bay, and their two daughters, who arrived in London last week, expect to be.in England about three months, and will visit Scotland and tho Continent. _ |

The" Rev. Hoani Parata, of Dunedin, hasreturned to England after having been chaplain at Naples and Cartagena, and has taken up work at St. Mark's, Kennington, in order to gain experience of church life in England. Mr. H. C. Cameron, Produce Commissioner for the Dominion Government, gave two interesting lectures on New Zealand to school children in the banqueting room at the Bath Guildhall, a few days ago, tho Mayor of Bath occupying the chair.

Mr. and Mrs. W. J. White, of Hawke's Bay, visited various towns in Italy, Switzerland, and Franco before reaching London. They intend to travel in tho British Islands, and will visit Norway. They leavo for New Zealand in October.

Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Kilroy, of Dunedin, and their son arrived in England a fortnight ago, and intend to stay till next October. They will stay at Verwood, with Dr. Moore, Mrs. Kilroy's brother, and then in Ireland with Mr. Kilroy's people in County Meath.

Mr. John O'Neil, of t Christchurch, has brought his sou, who is an electrical engineer, over to England, In order to gain experience. They are leaving London in a few days for Glasgow, from there making a tour of Scotland before going on to Ireland, and later to the United States. Mrs. Erson, widow of Dr. Erson, of Onehunga, has arrived in England with her daughter on a pleasure trip. After a' few weeks in London they are going north to tho Lakes, and Scotland, and after a round of visits intend going to the Continent. Miss Erson hopes to see something of the working of kindergarten methods of teaching,- in which she is much interested, while over here.

On the invitation of Dr. A. W. Ward, Master of Peterhouse College, Cambridge, and President of the British Academy, the High Commissioner and Miss Mackenzie were invited a few days ago to meet the members of the International Historical Congress when they paid a visit to Cambridge. On the following day, Dr. Walker, the historian, took the visitors through the library, which contains many unique historic records, the original of the famous Pepys Diary, etc. During their visit tho High Commissioner and Miss Mackenzie were'the guests of Dr. J. R. Tanner, of St. John's College.
