Owing> tho reduced quantities coming forward-during th& week, cooking and dessert applo prices at the Blair And Allen Street markets have appreciated to the advantage of tho sellers. It is con- , sidoral that a large quantity of pears , nui-at 'havo been cool-stored this season to account for their arriving in such reduced : quantities; The tendency, naturally, has been for prices to lmrdon during the wsek. The 'Frisco steamer arrived top lato last week for a report on her fruit, ohe brought tho usual quantity of bananas and oranges. Tho prices realised for the former did not compare with tlioso or tlio previous month, but tlicro was a compensating increase in tho prices for oranges. This week's Sydney boat brought a small consignment of persimmons, pines, queen pines, and a few mandarins, all ol which arrived in first-class order and were in gcod demand.
