Unless otherwise specified, registered letters and parcele-nost packages must be handed in and money-orders obtained ono hour beforo the ordinary mail closes. All the principal mails by train and steamer close at T« Aro ond Courtenay Place Post Offices at the same hours at at tho Chief Post Office, with the eicention that thero is no late-fee clearance, and that mails by tho ferry steamors for southern offices elooa at 6 p.m. On King's Birthday tho Postal Department will bo closed in all its branches. Mails by steamers sailing 'on King's Birthday will close at 8 p.m. on Monday, June 2. The only dispatches by train on King's Birthday will be for the Wairarapa, Manawatu, Wanganui. and Taranaki districts, closing at £30 a.in.: also Hawke's Bay and Auckland, closing at 7.15 a.m. Thero will bo no day clearance of the city and suburban receivers, but tho night clearance will bo made as usual. There will bo deliveries by letter-cnrriers, but on the previous evening there will be a delivery ovor the counter at tho Chief Post Offlco between 8.30 and 9.30 p.m., for all classo? of correspondence addressed to the Post Office; and in the letter-carriers' room (entry FcathcrBton Street) botweon 8.30 and 9.30 p.m., for all classes of correspondence which is delivered bv letter-carrior.
