The concert combination appearing at tho Town Hall on Juno 4, in promising to givo the public what they want, have apparently been taken at their word, it being stated that quite a number of requests have been received. Among Mr. Buckley's, the M'Dowall "Polonaise" and "Staccata Caprice" of Vogricli seem to be most in demand. Mr. Blov is periodically inundated with demands for. more Sarasato and an enrnest request for Ernst's famous "Elegio." Mr. Hodges finds it difficult to choose out of the many songs asked for, and will sing "Song of Sleep" and "Eyes that use to Gaze," and Mr. Johnstone will have to put aside his original selection and respond with "Lo Cygne"and "Ungarischo Rhapsodic."
All prizes in connection with the Zoological Grand Ait Competition will Ikawarded next Wednesday at a special entertainment, w J hich will be held in the W.C.T.TJ. rooms, CowtaWs Street. Tlis Worship the Mayor will preside, and Mr. A. H. Hindmarsh, M.P., will present tho prizes. An address is to be given by Mr. Gore, president of tho New Zealand Academy of Fino Arts.
