ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF REFEREES. Mr. W. Munckton presided over a meeting of Association referees last evening, there being also present: —Messrs. H. u. Mayer, J. B. Paton, C. E. Fordham, and B. I/. Salmon. . The Canterbury Referees' Association notified tho election of Messrs. S. Williamson, J. C. Richardson, and W. G. Bryce as' their examination board, and the Wellington Association wroto stating that its examination board consisted 01 Messrs. C. E. Fordham. B. L. Salmon, ,r. B. Paton, and I'\ O'Connoll. Both examination boards wore approved. Questions and rulings asked for by the Canterbury and Wellington Referees Associations were left to tho secretary to deal We following appointments were made: Wellington v. Canterbury, on Bajin Reserve, June 3—Referee, Mr. R. S.. gow; linesman, Mr. F. O'Connell. «ellinston v. Otago, in Wellington. Brown Shield Challenge game, June 21-Referee, Mr. B. L. The 1913 Now Zealand tennis chaniwMship meeting will be held in Auckland during tho Christmas holiday, prouded satisfactory arrangements can he maue. Tlio Auckland Association have bec-n, instructed to that effect, and mil consider tho matter at their next meeting on June 10. , ~ 'At last night's meeting of the Zealand Tennis Association a letter was received from tho Otago Lawn Tennis Association stating that they understood that it. was Dunedin's turn to have the championship meeting there, but tliey were willing, to forgo any claim they had in favour of Auckland, in view of the Auckland 1 Exhibition. They suggested, however, that handicap events should be held in conjunction Vith the New Aealand championship, as they thought ■.hat by the inclusion of such events it woulu give greater opportunity to players who would be taking part in theJvew Zealand cliammonship.
