ALL-ROUND GROWTH. ANNUAL MEETING. ij Great progress in Association, football ,j was recorded at tho annual meeting of delegates ol' the New Zealand Football a -Association, held at tho SjKirts Protection s Rooms last evening. Mr. Munckton was voted to tho clmlr. 0 Tho annual report placed before tho [ delegates remarked on the progress that . Association football was making in tho Dominion in all departments of tho game, , and honed that similar progress would be (. made (luring the coming season-. The lej port showed that during the past season , the South Canterbury and Westland Asf sociations were formed, bringing the nu-m- ---. ber of affiliated associations up to 13. 3 Thero were now about 325 teams in the Dominion, affiliated as follow:—Auckland . 45, Canterbury 20, Hawke's Bay 10, Jlana--1 watu 10, Marlborough 11, Otago 85, Soulh- , land 20, South Canterbury li, Taranaki S, jj' Wanganui 3, Wellington 91, Westland 3, and about 10 unaffiliated. This was again 5 a substantial increase over tho previous season. Continuing, the report set out that each association was leaving no stone unturned in 'its efforts to promote the gatno amongst tho youth of tho country, and the schools' competitions of the larger f centres were now on a very firm footing. The younger associations were all realis- , ing where tho future of tho game lay, and ; were making very praiseworthy efforts to run strong boys' and schools' competitions. 1 No British Team. Tho council regretted, however, that they were not very much further advanc- ■ cd towards a long cherished scheme of . securing a visit of a British team. Strong i representations were made to tho Football ' Association oil/ the question, but' tho stereotyped raply was received that at tho ■ present timo the -request could not be eni tertaiucd. It seemed to bo entirely a . question of financo and of getting tho players away for the length of -timo required, but principally finance, and until the association could soo its way to overcome this difficulty and pay the expenses of a visiting team, there was very little liopo of anything bein" done in the matter. Co-operation would have to be made with tho Commonwealth Football Association, but really financial guarantees were required. As an alternative, a visit of a team from tho colonies to England had breu suggested from timo to time, but the coulicil suggested that such a project would meet with very little success. The council noted with pleasuro the continued advance of the game in Australia, and congratulated the Commonwealth Football Association .upon tho excellent progress mado in tlio various phasos of tho game. Tho balance-sheet showed that the association had assets valued at .£9O. 3s. 4d.. with no liabilities. The assets included .£27 15s. Id., cash in hand and ill tho bank. In moving tho adoption of the report and balance-sheet, tho chairman said that tho general feeling was that tho association was iu a satisfactory way. Mr. H. Ci. Slayer seconded tho adoption of tho report and balance-sliest, which were carried after discussion. i Genoral Busintss. A recommendation to the incoming council was carried to the effect that secretaries of affiliated associations should bo requested to forward results of all representative matches to tho lion, secretary of tho New Zealand Football Association. Sanction was granted the Manawatu Football Association to play Wanganui, at Marlon, oil Juno 3, and the Wellington Football Association to play Canterbury at Wellington on Juno 3. The application -of the Ohinemuri Foot-' ball Association for affiliation was granted. Tho Wollington Association forwarded a report, showing that tlio association had IGOO registered members.
