ELLERSLIG GALLOPS. FINAL' DAY'S WORK. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, May 29. Heavy rain fell boforo breakfast at Ellerslic this morning. It eased somewhat nbout 9 o'clock, but lighter rain fell throughout training operations, making matters unpleasant for tho final gallops. All work was done on tho sand. ivakama galloped seven furlongs in lmiu. 31-sec. Merrimax, with tho best of tho weights, beat Montiform over a round of tho sand in 2m in. 1 3-usec. Waimangu took 2min. 5 3-ssec. to cover tho same -distance. I . Virtue easily beat The Chef over tho samo distance in 2miu. i l-ssec. Prophet went three rotiuds at a strong three-quarter pr.ee, and walked away very sore. Delegate galloped a round- in 2miu. 1 3-ssec. Priuco Eddio was going better than Wlmkaweira at tho end of a milo in lmin. 53 3-sscc. *■ Flingot and Idealism were together, six lengths in front of Game, at the end of a milo and a half, the last round taking 2min. 5 'f-usec. Lady Georgia was going better than Eocene at the end of five furlongs, in lmin. 5 2-ssec. Loch Mabin and Tort William were together at tho end of a mile, Gloy being beaten off, in lmin. 49 2-sscc. North East, -Crown Pearl, and Royal Arms finished in that order at tho end of five, furlongs, in lmin. 7|sec. Weo Olga galloped seven with tho assistance of Munuwern over the last four, taking lmin. 31 l-ssec. Sea Pink went better than Red Book over six furlongs, in lmin. 21 2-ssec. Faith and Lady Elgita 'were together, at the end of six, in lmin. 20 2-") sec. Frontino and Admiral Soiilt started for a' round of tho hurdles. The former jumped well, but the latter refused,.and was afterwards taken off.
Tim Doolan went oyer a couple of hur(llo3 in good style. Sky High and Poictiers did tlie same, and jumped well. Noble went a round of the hurdles, well. Timothy did the same, and Explosive jumped a couple of hurdle?. Glcnmore, Dorando, Bereola, E-eil M'Gregor, BismHrcb, and Hautero weift a round of the big fences, the last-named continuing on alone for another round. All fenced well, Hautero and Dorando in particular pleasing. Napper Tandy and Nape Nape started on a similar task, Tho latter fell at the first fenco of the double, the former continuing on alone without mishap. The latter was remounted, and jumped the fences on the flat.
The Native and Firework? went, a round of the big country, fencing well. " Stroller pot over tho big fences in the centre of the course. A large number of others, were also exercised. s
AUCKLAND SCRATCHINGS. , Auckland, May 29. Draft was withdrawn at 12.5 p.m., and Whimper at 12.20 p.m., from all engagements at the Auckland Hating Club's Winter meeting.
