THE HON. J, ALLEN'S RETURN.

AUCKLAND PREPARATIONS,

'(By Teleeraph.-Special • Correspondent.) Auckland, May 28. Arrangements have been completed for an appropriate reception to welcome the Hon. James Allen (Minister for Pinancc) on his return from London. The Minister is from Vancouver by the steamer Makura, yfhich will, in ordinary circumstances, arrive at Auckland on Tuesday morning. If the vessel is berthad sufficiently early, the Minister will, it is . expected, be present at the parade of troops in celebration, of the King's.-Birthr welcome on behalf of the citizens will bo giveti. to Mr. Allen by the Mayor of the city, and, in the afternoon, a reception .will be held. , Another public welcome will be given m the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. The gathering has been arranged by the Auckland Women's Political Reform League, bnt it will not be in any way political in character. . ' Tho Prime Minister (the Hon. W. I'Massey) will not be able to attend the reception on Tuesday, bat ho will arrive in the city on Wednesday, and. will be Etsent. at the reception in the evening, e Hon. R. H.
