JOHNSONVILLE AFFAIRS.
The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Jolinsnnville Town Board last evening was attended by Commissioners I'. T. Mooro (chairman), ,1. A. Xay, H. Parker, . Argell, W. S. Thompson, and W. 11. Lawrence.,
A vole of sympathy nr.(l condolence with Mr. and Mrs. Fox in their recent bereavement was carried by the board. Leave of absence was grunted Commissioner 0. Jerusalem. The Mirnmar Borough Council wroto advising that a conference of local bodies, to protest against the hospital levy in tiie local district, would be held at the Wellington Town Hall on Thursday' next. Messrs. Thompson and Jerusalem were deputed to represent tho board at tho conference. '.Pho Valuer-General wroto asking tho board to appoint au assessor under Section 3 of the Valuation of Land Act (in connection with a disputed valuation). Mr. Alfred Mills was appointed. The chairman reported that Mr. W. IT. D. Bell had arranged to introduce a deputation from the board to the Minister for Kail ways at L'.M p.m. to-mor-iow to discuss improved local railway accommodation and the removal of the railway cattle yards at .lolui-onville. Mr. 'Simeon wroie asking which of his houses- the board desired connected with ill? sewerage system. The clerk wa- directed to reply Hint, all occupied dwellings must be connected immediately.
An application from Iho Jolin c onvillo Brass Band, requesting the board to take 01 er the' band's liabilities and make the instruments municipal properly, was declined.
