WORK IN NEW SOUTH WALES.

Sir, —it has come to my knowledge that there is ■ a feelins among tradesmen, and others in New Zealand that New South "Wales's just now in a very prosperous condition, and in consequence work at hi"h wages plentiful. Whereas tho skilled and unskilled labour forces at present available throughout New South Wales have been sufficient to meet any likely demands now or in the _ near future. Under tho above circumstances, I icel sure Now Zealanders would do well to stay, at home, where work is always plentiful, instead of coming to Sydney, to fill the ranks of the huge army ot ifiicmployecl. , , , ~ Tho Labour party are largely to blame for tho present state of tho country. Since by placing restrictions upon local enterprises and a lack of courage 111 dealing with recent industrial strikes, they have caused speculators and others to retard operations, and, in some cases, abandon them altogether. Thero is a growing feeling amongst all classes of the community against tho Labour Government, and their defeat at the elections is very likely to be brought about with tho aid of tho workers' votes. Trusting you will publish this warning to New Zealanders against seeking employment in Australia, —I am, etc., JAMES J. O'DONOGHUE. Eushcutters' Bay, Sydney, May 13, 1913.
