FEDERAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN, A VIGOROUS FIGHT. Br TelaeraDh—Press Association—OoDyrlahl Sydney, May 27. The strenuous Federal election campaign is drawing to a close. Both parties have thrown great vigour into the fight, but the signed newspaper article provision and other restrictions • under the amended Electoral Act have robbed it of much of its quondam excitement and bitterness. It is predicted that the voting will be heavier and closer than at last election. THE REFERENDUM PROPOSALS. LICENSED VICTUALLERS' VOTE. 1 Brisbane, May 27. The Inter-State Licensed Victuallers' Conference, while not' identifying itself with any political party, decided to vote against the Federal referendum proposals, viewing with alarm tho placing in the hands of any party the power to designate any trade a monopoly.
