Mrs. Pankhurst, who was sentenced to three years' imprisonment for conspiracy and released on license, owing to the state of her health, was rearrested for leaving Dr. Ethel Smyth's house at Woking, where slio bad been sent for treatment. Twelve detectives had been watching the house day and night to prevent anybody leaving.it without establishing their identity. Mrs. Pankhurst wa9 subsequently recommitted to Holloway Prison. (Rec. May 27, 11.30 p.m.), London, May 27. Mrs. Pankhurst was arrested when attempting to hold a motor meeting at the London Pavilion. When sho was removed to Holloway Prison, four motor-cars, containing twenty women, followed her. . They attempted to rush the prison gates, and the warders had difficulty in closing, them. 'THE PAROLE. Among tho terms of the license (the tiino of its operation, was subsequently extended) under which Mrs. Pankhurst was released from prison by the Home £l:cretary, were, ,it is understood, provisions that the holder should preserve her license and produce it when called upon to do so by a magistrate or police officer; 6hould abstain from any violation of the law; ajid should.not go outside the residence or lodging to wnich she went on her release, except as far as may, on her application, and on her submitting if roquired to medical examination, be allowed in writing by the Directors of Convict Prisons. • SUFFRAGETTE LITERATURE. A.ND A BOMB. ■ ■ London, May 26. An unexploded bomb and Suffragette literature saturated with paraffin were found under a staircase in an untenanted residence, Wheatley Hall, Doncaster. ATTEMPT TO BLOW UP A BRIDGE. I '' (Rec. May 27, 11.30 p.m.) London, May 27. An attempt has been made to blow up Elginhaugh Bridge, at Aslibank, with gunpowder.
