When sho was removed to Holloway Prison, four motor-cars, containing twenty women, followed her. . They attempted to rush the prison gates, and the warders had difficulty in closing, them. Among tho terms of the license (the tiino of its operation, was subsequently extended) under which Mrs. Pankhurst was released from prison by the Home £l:cretary, were, ,it is understood, provisions that the holder should preserve her license and produce it when called upon to do so by a magistrate or police officer; 6hould abstain from any violation of the law; ajid should.not go outside the residence or lodging to wnich she went on her release, except as far as may, on her application, and on her submitting if roquired to medical examination, be allowed in writing by the Directors of Convict Prisons. • SUFFRAGETTE LITERATURE.
