TABGET PRACTICE OFF AKAHOA. (By Telesraph.—Press Association.! Christchurch, May 27. H.M.S. New Zealand left Akaroa this morning. She will be joined by H.M.S. Pyramus outside the Hencls and will cairy out big gun practice. She will probably remain at sea all night, and anchor off Timaru to-morrow niiht. 1 Timaru, May 27. A thick fog prevails, and fears are entertained that it will spoil the warship's visit.
A meeting of the Wellington South Prcvrresvlve Society will be held in the W.T.C.U. "Rooms, 35 Constable Street, tomorrow night at 8 o'clock.
