FARM WORKERS DISCONTENTED. By Telegraph—Presß Association-Copyright London, May 25. There is much discontent among farm workere in Lancashire. Trouble is threatened owing to a number of labourers being locked out at Downliolland for demanding increased wages and overtime beyond twelve hours, also a half-holiday on Saturday. TRADE UNION BALLOTS. POLITICS AND FUNDS. London, May 25. Hitherto trade union ballots have been much, of a farce. Tho Chief Registrar's rules for the working' of tho Act setting aside the Osborne judgment proscribe that before a union can devote its funds to any political object there must be a ballot ensuring absolute 6ecrecy. There are also strong rules for keeping political Levies separate. RAILWAY UNION FUSION. PROPOSAL DEFEATED. London, May 25. A conference of tho Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen at Leods refused, by 55 votes to 4, to take a ballot conoerning .the fusion of the Tail-way unions.\ MINERS' WAGE INCREASE.
