OFFICERS TO SEE GUN PRACTICE. (By Telegraph.—Presa Association.) Christchurch, May 26. The weather is very foggy all along tho coast. Akaroa reports similarly, but tho festivities there iu connection with tho visit of H.M.S. New Zealand aro virtually at an end. The warship is coaling to-day, and. leaves to-morrow morning. It is understood that General Godley, Colonels Cooper, Strong, and Patterson, of the Coast Defcnce Forces, and Majors Humo and Bevan will bo tho guestß of Captain Halsey on the voyage south in order to watch tho big gun practice.

North Manakau Road, Jtanaknu, will take place on Friday, May 30, commencing at 1 p.m. The Associated Auctioneers announce a large yarding of sheep and cattle for their Solway stonk sale, to be held at Masterton on Wednesday, May 28.
