GROSS OUTRAGE AT A CEMETERTj (By TolograiA,—Press Association.) Wairoa, May 20, A' gross outrage at tho Wairoa comcw tcry was reported to tho polioe this after-* noon, A resident of Mangaono was buried yesterday afternoon, and tho gravo was topped over in tho ordinary way. To-day it was reported to tho polioo that tho grave had been opened up down to tho coffin, tho lid of which was splintered with a spade or axe, and tho trimmings exposed. No motive for tho outrage con bo suggested. Tho deceased had nothing of value buried with him, and having been a most inofl'ensivo man, thcro ie no suggestion of revenge. At 5.30 p.m. the polico nrrostcd a man named Richard M'Konzio Edwards, alias Do Courooy, on suspicion of rilling tho gravo. When charged, ho oonfessod, and handed over tho tools used. Tho only statement mado was that ho was after money. When Ixv fore tho authorities accused's behaviour was peculiar.
