CERCLE FRANCAIS.
The weekly meeting of the Trench Club, held on Thursday evening and presided over by Mon. Muflou, proved very interesting. The programme opened with an amusing paper by Madame M'lntosh entitled "Bonheur Conjugal," which dealt with' a domestic tragedy brought about by the ignorance of cooking principles on the part of the newly-wed wife. Mr. 0. Bendall, who has lately returned from a trip to Europe, then delivered the main item of the evening. His lecture was entitled "Jlon Sejour en France," and in it he graphically describes that country and her people, beginning at Toulon and ending at Dieppe. The lecturer depicted vividly the beauty of the South of Trance, and touched upon many places of historic interest visited en route. Mile. Meade gavo a reading from Alphonsa Daudet. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the lecturer and to those wlio had assisted.
