Further evidence in connection with the charge of murder against Sarah Eliza Skellon was heard at the Supreme Court to-day. Mina Morns, married woman, said that about 8.30 o'clock on the evening of January 20 accused, accompanied by a man named M'Kay and Miss Bush (deceased) had como to her house, and asked whether there was a spare room wherein "her niece," Miss Smith, could stay for a few days. The girl had left either Dn tho Wednesday or Thursday. Witness had been paid 10s. by M'Kay for having boarded her. Dr. Baber, who visited tho deceased, Minataiir Bush, at her residence in Panmure Eoad on February 5, stated that, upon his arrival, the girl was apparently in much pain, and was in high fever. He had no hesitation in diagnosing tho case ns peritonitis and septicaemia, probably duo to such occurrences as had afterwards been revealed. Subsequently he had been preMnt at a post-mortem examination, when it had been found that there had been a miscarriage. Thero was no direct Evidence to show how this had been, done, but it was wry unlikely that septic peritonitis would occur without tho use of an instrument. Detective Sergeant Cox stated that ho had visited accused's house on February 7, and had asked her whether she knew taxi-cab driver named M'Kay. Accused had admitted that sir? knew M'Kay, and thereupon witness Tead a statement mndo t>y M'Kay in reference to tho condition of Minataur Bush. She' had denied tho allegations made, and had said: "I didn't do it; sire went to a nursing homo; I refused,to do it, but I gavo her somo This closed tho case for the Crown, and Mr. Lundon tlion called evidence for tho defence. The case is still proceeding.
