(From Our Special Correspondent.) 0 Thero is some possibility of a new Town Board area being established next summer, embracing Trontham, Ileretaunga, and the eastern portion of Silverstream. Five hundred signatures are requisite to give shape to tha movement. An alternative movement is on foot to secure Parliamentary sanction 1o havo tho Mungaroa riding declared a separate county.
A .youth named Exton, residing at Alicetown, was picked up by some carters passi).'; l'ouky Point (Ngnhauranga) on Thursday afternoon suffering from a broken shoulder—the result of u fall from the platform of the railway carriage in which lie was journeying home. The l'etono third-class cricket team, who wero bracketed with Karori for the championship last season, were given a complimentary dinner last evening at tho Empire Hotel, by Mr. Fred Steinmnller, one of the oldest playing members of the club. At St. Augustine's Schoolroom last evening the parishioners of I'etone held a social evening. Tho proceedings opene;! v.-ith a debate on "Military Training." .Mr. Savage spoke in favour of the scheme ;ind Mr. Andrews opposed.
