Indies were communicated with, but those, that replied said tlicy had already dono their share in making grants for tho entertainment of tho ofheors and men, andf they could not do any more. Tho fuud < was to bo a Dominion fund, and in no son so was it to be regarded as a Christ--church fund. It was proposed to raise .filflflO throughout tho Dominion, and tho incomo from tho amount raised would provide .£SO or XGO, which, according to Captain Halsey, would b? ample for prizes for big giiiii work.
