POULTRY FARMING.

Each year Mr. E. T:.B. Worthy, whose stock have been so successful at various New Zealand shows, and who sends orders to all parts of the Dominion, makes improvements and additions to his up-to-date farm. Tho outstanding addition that' strikes one is a large house built to hold 100 laying birds, and to cconomiso space, and it shows the latest ideas .in this respcct. This house is an open front shed roof house. The difference between this and tho Corning house is that in the latter all the run the birds get is underneath the house, whereas in tho former tho birds will be confined to tlio house only on rough, cold days. They will have the run of tlio paddock on lino days. This plan is adopted on some very large farms in America and in Englajid. Another of the improvements noted is the enlarged brooder house. The shed will hold 800 chicks. Mr. Worthy hopes to hatch out 2000 this season. Mr. Worthy considers the White Eock the best all-round bird. Last season's ccckercls at three months weighed 31b. dressed, and pullets began lnying at fiyo mouths. "I cannot understand," said Mr. Worthy, "why farmers do not go in for such a bird instead of tho nondescript sorts they havo." Mr. Worthy will l>o. pleased to show his stock and explain liis methods to anvonc interested.
