SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Present indications arc for variable winds, with increasing- northerliot?, prevailing to-morrow. Fair to cloudy and rather wanner weather probable generally. Increasing cloudiness on the West Coast nnd southern districts for a chouse, probably following in tho early part of next week. The barometer has rteen everywhere with moderate to strong southerly and westerly winds predominating, but with decreasing forco generally. There has been a general improvement in the weather to-day. May 23.—Fine, bright day. Otaki, Jtay 23.—-Light frost, followed by bright sunshine.
Featherston, May 23.—Bright, fine day. Greytown, May 23.—Heavy frost, followed by a beautiful day. Carterton. May 23.—Tho weather is fine; heavy frost in the morning. Masterton, Jtay 23—A keen frost, followed by a bright, clear day.
