Regulations published in tho Gazette last night provide that officers not exceeding six in number, two from the permanent force and four from tho lerritotial force, may bo appointed honorary aides-de-camp to tho Governor for gallantry or distinguished service in tho field, or for meritorious service m tho interests of the Dominion. Officers to be eligible for this distinction must be on the Active List or the Reserve ot Ot'cers. and must not be below the rank ot Lieutenant-Colonel. The appointment will bo for five years. Aides-de-camp to oj Governor will, when on duty, wear on (he right shoulder a special gold cord aigmllette *.f a similar design to Ijiat woru by aides-de-camp to the Sovereign. Olucers of tho New Zealand Medical Corp;', not exceeding two in number, may also be appointed honorary . physician aim honorary surgeon respectively to the 'lovemor.
