STATEMENT FOR THE YEAR,
REVENUE, <611,734,270. %. ■ NEARLY HALF A MILLION INCREASE. ' SURPLUS, ,£709,000. | 'A statement of receipts and expenditure of the Consolidated Fund and of tho several special funds for tho year ended March 31, 1913, appeared in the Gazette published last night. l , Generally speaking, the statement shows that tho revenue is increasing, but that the expenditure also has increased during :'the year. '. Ordinary revenue produced i 11,73-1,270, or nearly w6700,f100 more than in tho preceding year. On. tho other hand,, •the Government finished the year with a. ■balance in hand of ,£709,508, having begun the year with ,£807,275, but the amount transferred to the Public Works Fund ■was ,£750,000, a 9 against .£500,000 in the preceding year.
