All the Cabinet Ministers are in Wellington, with the exception of tho Hon. W. I'raser. who is at Pongaroa, and tho. Hon. R. H. Rhodes, who is at Christchurch. The Hon. A. L. Herdlnan arrived in Wellington by the express last night from New Plymouth. He went to Auckland primarily to open the new Public Trust Office, but while there ho investigated the causes of disaffection amongst tho police. Afterwards, continuing his inspection of the prisons of tho Dominion, he visited the camps at Waiotapu and Waipa, in tho Rotorna district, and also tho gaol at Now Plymouth. The Hon. R. H. Rhodes, PostmasterGeneral, is expected to return from Christchurch on Sunday morning. Tlio Assistant-Public Service .Commissioners, Messrs. R. Triggs and A. D. Thomson, lcavo Rotorua for Hamilton and Cambridge to-day, and they will catch the south-bound express at Frankton at midnight, arriving in Wellington on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Stuart C. Harbinson, 8.A., who has been assistant at Knox Churoh, Dunodin, for tho past two years, will arrivo in Wellington by tho jlanuka from tho south this morning. Grimmond, chairman of tho Westland County Council, accompanied by Dr. Borrio, is making an extensive trip through South Westland, and will finish up by crossing tho Haast Pass and coming out in Otago. Mr. L. S. Bruce, secretary of tho Tourist Bureau at Launcestou (Tasmania), and Government Immigration Officer for Northern Tasmania, is on a holiday trip to New Zealand. Mr. P. Wills, of Wellington, has purchased Mr. F. C. Mouckton's property at Feathcrstou.

Mr. Charles James Hamilton, who died in Palmerston North on Wednesday, saw service with his regiment during tho Maori War. He originally enlisted in tho 10th (Princo of Wales Royal) Hussars, and afterwards transferred (o tho 2nd Battalion 14th Buckingham Regiment of Foot (Princo of Wales Own). Mr. Hamilton arrived in New Zealand in tlio year 18G1, and went through ail the campaigns with his regiment. Tho Presbyterians of Mangaweka liavo signed a call to tho Rev. John M'Caw, of Norsewood. Tho call will bo brought before tho Wanganui meeting on May 28. Mr. A. V/. Meeks. M.L.C., of Sydney, has been rc-clecfed chairman of directors, and Senator J. T, 'Walker, deputy-cliair-man, of tlie Australian Mutual Provident Society for tho ensuing year. The following transfers in tho Customs Department are gazetted:—Mr. W. J. Wratt, Collector at Invercargill, to bo Collector at Ghristchurch; Mr. W. ,T. Hawley, Collector at Timnru, to be Collector at Invercargill; Mr. W. Rose, Landing Surveyor, Wellington, to bo Collector at Timaru.

Mr. Herbert Scott Molineaux has been appointed by the Governor to be a member of the Board of Examiners under tho Mining Act.
