MARLBOROUGH FARMERS.
UNION 'ANNUAL MEETING. Tho report presented, at tho annual meeting of the Marlborough branch, of the Fanners' Union stated that tho roll of membership totals about 236, an increase for the year of about 13;J, which is very good in comparison with, other years. The report, liowever, adds that the apathy shown iu union matters by farmers generally is very discouraging to those few who are working in their interests. When ono takes tho trouble to review the position in Marlborough, it is found that tho union is working one of tho most promising districts in tho Dominion for the growth and spread of a Farmers' Union, where the holdings are small, and the means of getting to and from, meeting places are easy, and tho roads good. Therefore, the want of interest shown by farmers iu their union becomes the more astounding. Tho election of ofiicers resulted as fol-lows-.-President, Mr. A. Mackay; vicepresident, I Air. H. D. Vavasour; treasurer, Mr. J. Gano; auditor, Mr. R. P. Coulter; executive, Messrs. C. Ferguson, E. tr. Blick, E. A. Weld, A. Davidson, H. D. Vavasour, T. Motrin, J. Higgins. R. I. Coulter, C. R.
