FIRE POLICE.
The monthlr meeting of the Fire Police was held in {lie Central Fire Station on Tuesday evening, Captain J. Wright m the chair. It was decided to carry out the usual winter card tournaments between the police nnd the various fire stations, starting with the central station, on Friday, May .10. The following committee was appointed to carry out tho arrangements: —Captain .T. Wright, Lieutenants Short and Ousack, Secretary Von Bernowetz, and C. Baker. It was also decided to hold (in conjunction with the fire brigade) the annual social at an early date. The arrangements were left in the hands of a committee, consisting of the officers and a sub-committee appointed from the
brigade. It was decided to place tho amount (.£lO 10s.) received from tlie Government for work done by the police at the Post Office fire, to the sick and accident fund. The new badges, which are a groat improvement on tho old leather ours (a 'silver shield with raised letters, 1 .P., on the front) were distributed amongst members.
