SUMMARY AND FORECAST.

Present indications ore for heavy southerly (talcs, very colli and boisterous weather, heavy shoivere, elect and hail in parts, and snow on higher levels. The barometer will probably rise fast everywhere soon. Very heavy sea 3 and high tides expected on all the western coast, dnd increasing oil-shoro elscwhore. The' barometer has been lower in tho south than recorded for many years, 28.48 inchos being registered at the Bluff at 7 p.m. on Monday. Tho gradient, however, has not been so steep as on former occasions, for example, on April 15, 1910, when 28.64 was recorded'. Stormy westerly wear ther has prevailed, especially on tho West Const, and' enow has fallen on tho higher levels.
