UPPER HUTT TOWN BOARD.

The forlnfehUr meeting of the Upper Jlutt Town Board was held on Monday pvoniii" la-t. Present: Commissioners Webb (chairman), Bengc, Bennington, Edwards, Kemp, Qtiinn, and Robertson. Tho Railway Department notified the board of its intention to connect the Upper Hutt station with the local telephone bureau. It was decided to thank die Department for its action, and for the prompt reply to the board's request in this matter. It was decided to appoint Mr. T. M. Wilfcrrd. M.P., as I lie board's assessor at tlifl sitting of the Assessment Court in connection with valuation' anpeals in tho town district. The board's contribution of ,£llO towards the cost of construction of the Moonshine Bridge was passed for patient.. Messrs. James Brown and J. D. As Commissioner Quirin hod retired meanwhile it was decided to adjourn the meeting until Sunday next to consider what action should ■be taken in tnis matter.
