COMPANIES' COMBINED ACTION. THE QUESTION OF TRANSPORTS. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright (Use. May 19, 11 p.m.) London, May 19. The British-India, Cunard, Oceanic, Royal Mail, and other shipping companies have combined to insure against the contingencies of war at reasonable terms, instead of at panic rates. Tho Government experts are inspecting the merchantmen .constructing in the various yards, with a view to their suitableness as transports in wartime.
