CIRCUS ACCIDENTS.
Berlin, April 2. An extraordinary sequence of accidents orcurred last night at the Schumann Circus. In the first item on tho programme—cutting oft' dummy heads with swords while on horseback—one of tho competitors was bitten by. a horse, pulled oul of the saddle, and dragged round the arena. . lie was rescued, severely bruised and suffering from dangerous bites. Shortly afterwards, during a turn called "The Living Propellor," one of the performers fell a distance of lfMiietres. Tie, with another man, was holding to a ring suspended from the roof and rapidly revolving. Tile unfortunate performer sus-, lained serious internal injuries, and had lo be carried from the ring. By this li;ne Hit- spectators had become my nervous, and a climax was reached when Iwo Chinese jugglers who, with cinlit oilier-, dose .a sneelaeiilar turn by sliding down a wire rope by (lie pigtails, fell and received terrible inj ulit", from which limy are likely to succumb. One man had his piirlnil and nearly all his scalp torn froru his head, wliilo tho other broke both ltga and fractured Ms'skull.
