BETTING PROSECUTIONS.
Sir,—Tho police, recently prosecuted Boveral small fry, who the public never heard of—not bookmakers. Toto-odds men, who everybody knows, openly infest our main streets and carry on" their illegal calling. Why prosecute small men, when the big fellows are left to go on for ever? Have they a monopoly as gamblers to do what they like in our streets. It is time the police shifted them.—l am, etc., . TRANSPARENCY.
