MARCHING FOR VOTES.
& NEW YORK WOMEN PARADE. London, May 13. A great suffrage demonstration was held yesterday in Acvr York, 130,000 women taking part. They paraded through the streets dressed in white and looking as solemn as they could. Gaiety or an appearance of festivity was discouraged. The object of tho paradcrs was to convinco onlookers of their earnestness and determination. The grand marshal in charge of the procession issued this order:— If friends wtill not march with you, out them dead. March with eyes front. Lot tharo be no talking or laughing. Keep step with heads erect and shoulders back. Remember, you aro marching for a principle." A contingent cf 3000 men joined the procession.—"Sydney 45um."
