WINTER QUANTITIES ARRIVING. Consignments of both fruit and vegetables to the Blair and Allen Streets markets have fallen considerably during tho week, and it would appear that tho supplies which »ro to come forward now 'will bo in practically winter quantities. This week's Australian shipment consisted solely of pineapples, which met with a very good demand. On, Thursday tho first of tho season's bulb flowers, in tho shapo of narcissi, canio to hand, and sold at Is. 3d. per dozen blooms. Tomato supplies £\re now ncaring tho end, and most of tho supplies now arriving are too green for immediate use, and. further, they will not ripen with keeping. Cooking apples are in very good demand at present, and compared with tho values ruling at this time InsJt week prices show a decided increase. Pears, especially dessert varieties, are selling on the low side.
