The Selis drama "Greater Wealth," depicts a powerful dramatic scone in which a millionaire is faced by an assassin. The linhappiness of tho former's private life awakens the sympathy of tho. would-be murderer, and lie leaves his intended victim unharmed. A fit'st-clnss Lubin detective adventure, "Tho Regeneration of Nancy," is a very popular item. Beebe's company of vaudeville and minstrel'stars will wininenco a season of seven nights at tho Opera House 011 Monday evening, May 10. Tho comit.uiy consists Of 17 performers, and is idnimcd to bo ono of tho strongest organisations of tho kind that has toured Australasia in recent years. Mr. Dan ICiolderson, tho protean actor, impersonator, ventriloquist, and mimic, is tho only member of tho company who libs previously appeared in New Zealand, and ho has but recently returned to tho colonies after an absence of several years in England, with a newact called "the one-man music hall." Mr. Bc-ebo litis had many years' experience in conducting theatrical enterprises in America and Australia, and his companies have, it is stated, toured Australia nnd tho East with marked success during the past six yctors. It is his intention, if tho present New Zealtmd tour is successful, to establish his personal headquarters in New Zealand, and devote his fintiro time to providing refined vaudeville at reasonable prices. Artists in the present company include, in addition to Mr. Kielderson, the Rollicking Rockleys, sketch artists; Miss Eiibeo l!ay--111011", an American too dancer; Miss Ella Conrad, soprano: and Miss Ruby Cox, contralto; Mr. Will White, a coon singer and dancer; the Musical Bartletts, who (it is stated' combine humour with harmony, and play musical instruments ranging from a mouth-organ to a set of motor-car horns; Messrs. Spiker ana Fairbauk, comedians; and Miss Edio Lecder, a dainty little scrio anil dancer. The company opens in a 45-minute production of" modern minstrels, tblled "Merry Moments," for which elaborate scenery and stage properties aro carried, and a long programme of speciality | acts follow in quick succcssion. A novel performance will take plaoe at the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall 011 Thursday and Friday next. Mrs. James Hannah and Mr. J. M. Clark will be associated in the production of some of Oscar Wilde's poelic works. A of Wilde's poems and sonnets will be recited, including "Rotes nnd Rue," and "Magdalen Walk?," but the great attraction will be the production for the first time in New Zealand of "A Florentine Tragedy," which for wealth of language and strong dramatic interest is regarded by many as Wilde's masterpiece. The action of tho play takes place in the early sixteenth century. Airs. Hannah will also produce a study-in colour and movement, entitled "Tlw 'Wind Driving the Seasons." This will bo acted by 30 young ladies, tho | leader of whom is the clever young artiste Miss Vera Pegg. Tho box plan is now open ot tlm Dresden. I SUNDAY CONCERT. Tho Wellington Professional Orchestra, under tho baton of Mr. Herbert Bloy, •will perform at His Majesty's Theatre on Sunday evening, for the sixth timo this season.
