DESTRUCTIVE TORNADO
TOWN IN KANSAS DESTROYED. MANY PEOPLE KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. May 15, 11.20 p.m.) New York, May 15. A tornado struck the southern part of Omaha City, unroofing /lie houses. Tho peoplo wcro not hurt, but fled panic-stricken into the streets. The tornado also included tho township of Soward, in Kansas, in its track. At Seward, twelve people wero killed and fifty injured. The town is reported to bo destroyed. Other neighbouring towns suffered h'cavily, including M'Coolc and Tomalo, where four persons were killed. Tho tail end of tho tornado caught a Union Pacific railway motor-car, which was hurried along for miles at top speed. The car was. partially .wrecked, and passengers injured. Large areas of crops bavo been devastated. ■
