Slc'drs. Dalpety and Co., Ltd., reporting on their .usual weekly stock sale at Wai- | pukurau on Tuesday, state that they offerj ed a fair entry of sheep and a. .small en. I try of cattlo to a pood attendance o? 'farmers. Cuttle were in poor demand, but sheep of pood quality sold well, contillering the csliort-nBo of feed throughout the district. They quote the following prices;— Small two-tooth ewes, Be. 4d,, small two-tooth wethers, 9s. Id.; mixed-ape ewes (small), 10.?. 7d.; cull enves, &?. 3d.; forward ewe.*. lis. 6d.; fat cows. £5 7s. (Td. Tho New Zealand I.oan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—V/c had a. pood entry of both sheep and cattlo at Holway yesterday, which wo submitted to o. larpc attendance of buyers. Competition, 'with the exception of that for forward wethsrs, was hardly so animated as at last week's sales, and wo missed in a few peas under the hammer, though'we managed to quit most of them afterward*. Forward wethers made up to 17s. 6d.: small wethers, 12s. 4d.; ewes in lamb, 10s. 3d,; empty ewes, 95.; 353 weancr calves sold on account of' Messrs. Percy Bro3. brought £2 te. Gd., while others sold at from 16s. to £1 10s.: dairy hcifcTs brought £3 to £5; two and a half-year-old steers, £3 12s. 6d.: forward cows, to £4 55.; thrce-quarter-brcd Htflstein bull calves, £2 to £V ■ ' Messrs. Sheep met poor competition under the hammer, and tho bulk of tho entry was passed. We'were successful, however, before tho closo of busihess, in placinp a large portion of tho yarding at late rates. There was no inquiry for cattle. Quotations:—Goou ewes in lambs, 10s. 6d. to 12s. lid.; sound-mouth ewes in lambs, Bs. 3d, to 9u. Bd.; forward empty ewes, 9s. 6d. to Us.; two and fourtooth wethers, 14s. to Ite. Bd.; small twotooths, lis. 9d.; pood woolly lambs, 9s. id. to 10s.; fat. lambs, lte. 2d.; meduim lambs, 6s. to 7s. 5d.; small lambs, 4s. Id. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their .Tohnsonvillo tsale held yesterday as follows.—A heavy yarding of both sheop and cattle came forward. Tho demand was pood, ©specially for the sheep, which were mostly of extra eood quality and weighty. Prime heavy bullocks, £11 2s. fid. to £11 10s.; primo bullocks, £10 10?, to £10 17s. 6d.; lighter, £9 15s. to £10 £e.; light, £9 ss. to £9 10s. A lino of twenty primo voalers sold well at the following prices:—Primo weighty venlers, £2 55., £2 ig,, £2 125,; lighter, 275. to £2. ADDINOTON" STOCK SALES. (By Telegraph.—Prera Association.) Christchuroh, May 14! At tho Addington sale thcro were large entries of stock, tho yardings of fat sheei> and lambs showed an-increase upon last week. There was a. good sale for store sheep, though ewea wore a shade easier, fat lambs sold somewhat irregularly, and on tho wholo a. Jittlo below last week's rates. Fftt sheep sold without much change from last week's prices. Fat cattle wero somewhat easier, and fat pigs showed some improvement. In store slieep the bulk.of tho entry consisted of ewes of all grades, and of tho balance lambs formed tho greatest part. Wethers were comparatively small in proportion of tho entry. The tono of the market for ewes was a shade easier than of late, due no doubt to tlio season being well advanced. For lambs, previous rates were fully maintained, values for forward sorts being (if anything) a littlo better. For wethers, the market showed no change. The market was somowhat irregular, opening at about last week's rate, then it eased off, but recovered again towards the close, but on tho whole prices were rather easier than last week, averaging about Cd. per lb. Tegs mado 20s. to £1 55..- a few oxtra, to £1 19s. 3d.; ordinary weights, 16s. Cd. to 19s. 6d.; and light and unfinished 12s. 2d. to 16s. Tho fat sheep market opened well up to last week's rat<?s, and i there was litilo chango throughout. Tho fringe of prico3 was:—Extra primo wethers, to £1 lis.; prime, £1 to £1 7e. 6d.; others, 17s. to 19s. 6d.; merino wethers, lis. 2d. 'o £i 03. Bd.; primo ewos. 18s. to £1 ss. £u.; medium, 'lfc. to 17s. 6d.; aged and light, 12s. to 14s. 6d.; morino ewes, 9s. Tlie fat cattle demand was far from brisk, nwl on numorous occasions tho demand wan dragging, and prices not reaching owners' reserves and paseins in were somewhat hcavier than usual. Beef realised priccs ranging from £1 Is. to £1 9s. per ICOIb., according to quality; steers brought £7 10s. to £11; extra, ,to £15 55.; beifere, £6 lCs. to £10 10s.; and cows, £5 ss. to £8 55.; extra, to £11 10s. Tho demand for all classes of store cattle was weflli, prices being as follow Fifteen, to eightsen-months sorts, £2 Bs.; three-year heifers'. £5 7s. 6d.; and dry cows, £1 15s. to £5. ' Dairy cows made £3 10s. to £10 10s. Tlie demand for fat pigs showed an improvement on the values ruling the previous we#i. Ohonpers brought £3 to £4:'' heavy baconers, £3 s=. to £3 155.; and ilglltsr, £2 15s. to Ji 2s. 6d.; or equal to 5Jd. to 5Jd. per lb. Tho demand for rJcsccs of all descriptions -was poor, buyers being indifferent tthout business. LaTge stores realised £1 15s. to £1 18s. 6d.; medium, £1 6s. to £1 145.; and small sorts. 16s. to £1 ss. Weaners brought, Bs. to 15s.

Thero wag poor competition, and priccs wero rather lower than last week's rates. Best bullocks made £10 10s. to £11 10s.; extra show bullocks, to £14 10s.; good, £9 to £10; best heifers, £8 ss. fo £9 10s.; good, £6 10s. to £7; best cows, £7 ss. to £3 55.; good, £6 to £7; medium, £4 15s. to £5 10s. Fat 6heep: There were 2075 penned, chiefly medium to inforior quality, with a small proportion of wcll-flniehed wetliors. At tho commencement ofotho sale prices v.-ero Is. 6d. to 2s. above last week's rates, but towards the finish they dropped to about la fit week's level. Best wethers mado 245. 6d. to 265.; extra, to 275. 3d.; good, 20s. to 215.; medium, 18s. 6d. to 19s. 6d.; best ewes, 18s. 6d. to 205.: medium. 15s. 6d. to 175.,- inferior, 12s. to 13s. Fat lambs: There wore 1488 penned, mostly medium quality. Owing to the preeenco of a new buyer competition was exceptionally keen, andfirfrs! were Is. to Is. 6d. better than last week's rates. Best, 21s. to 235.; good. 17s. 6il. to lEs. 6d.; medium, 15s. fo 16s. 6d. Pigs; There waa; a fair yarding, and prices fur baconers and porkers were fairly good.
