HIDES AND SKINS.

.VALUE AS EXPORT LINES. The value of and all kinds of skins as export lines is sho-wn by the fact that for tho twelvo months ended with April 257,978 hides, valued at -£241,1)93 or ■££0,992 nioro than for tho corresponding period last year, have been sent away. The figures tor the month of April show' an increase of 3748 hides, valued at ,£72;>B. The valno of the skins exported for 4ho twelve months ended April 30 was .£860,221 for 16,507,316 skins. This is an increase of 1,817,315 skins, and an increase in value of i.'184,664. For the, month of April, however, the exports fell slightly iu value, and considerably in number. In April, 1913, 721,320 skins, valued at .£64,039, were exported, whilst for April last year the figures were— 1,010,070 skins, valued at; <£61,600.
