MARKET WANTED IN NEW ZEALAND. Mr. Henry L. Willis, manager of a .tobacco plantation at Fort Jamesoii) N.E. Rhodesia, South Africa, writes to tlio .secretary of the WellingtM Chamber ot Commerce: —"Dear si]*, —I am writing to as!; you for somo information re the importation of tobacco into New Zealaiid. 1 havo a large plantation here, and wish to open a market in New Zealand if the Customs there are suitable. 1 couul till]) 110 tons of Virginia leaf, flue-cured and packed in 2001b. bales. Tlio quality would be one-third suitable for cigarettes, aud two-thirds semi-briglits for pipe tobacco. The shipments would leave here about September in each year, arriving in New Zealand abou ; t December or January. Will you kindly let mo know (lie annual consumption nf tobacco, whether it is cake or loose. Is there any preferential tariff with this country, which is. now in the South African Customs Union.
