RESIDENTS ALARMED ABOUT IT. (By Telegraph.—Special Oorrcapondan'..) Hokitika, May 12. The recent accident on the Otira, line hafi caused considerable uneasiness among, the people of the West Coast, and urgent representations are to bo made to 'the Government to have some additional precautions taken. At to-morrow's meeting of the Westland County Council, Mr. J. A. Murdoch will move in the direction of urging upon tho Railway Department to have the railway from Otira to tho Ross securely fenced, to keep out wandering cattle, arid that tho Westinghouss brake bo fitted to all carriages on tho Westland lino,
