DISASTROUS TYPHOON.
IN THE PHILIPPINES. By Telegraph.—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. Hay 12, 10.35 iyn.) New York, May 12. Advices from Manila stato that a heavy typhoon luis occurred at the Philippines. Many steamers and lighter craft hnvo been wrecked, and it is expected that much damago has been done generally. No detail* are at present available. Fifty-eight people are reported to have been killed. Tho sea was the most serious experienced for eight years. THE UNMARRIED UNCLE. LEAVES A HUGE FORTUNE. WIRTH FAMILY BENEFICIARIES. Tho AVirth family, of which some belong to tho well-known circus, have inherited a huge fortuno of four million pounds, left by tin unmarried uncle, who died recently in Chicago, where he mado a pile. The fortuno is to be divided among tho descendants of four brothers of the millionaire. Olio brother left only one son, who is employed in a jewellery establishment in Sydney. He gels a million. Ho has ten children. Philip and George 'N'irtli, of circus inme, and three married sisters divide a million pounds. [Some twenty years ago Phillip Wirth, one of the legatees of the "Wirth fortune, mentioned in tho foregoing message, married in Auckland Miss Jenny Hodgson, a daughter of Mr. \T. Hodgson, who died nt Hamilton last Friday. Mrs. Wirth (an Auckland Press Association message states) has been living at Ponsonby for some years past. She has one daughter, who recently married a clergyman.]
