$ SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for cold and changeable weather, squally and showery in parts. Tho barometer is unsteady, but with a rising tendency, and strong southerly winds will probably prevail. Tho low pressure which prevailed on Friday was of a cyclonic nature in higher latitudes than usually observed, and passed eastwards on Saturday night and Sunday, with southerly gales and very wintry weather in nil parts of the country. Heavy rain was experienced in many districts, cud snow on higher levels. South-westerly Sales weTe reported this afternoon at l'ort Ahuriri, Kailioura, and Akaroa Lighthouse, and also at Gape Maria van Dienien.
