SPORTS' PROTECTION LEAGUE.

The committee of the Wellington branch of tho Sports Protection League met on Friday evening, when there were present:—Messrs. C. W. Tringliam (in the chair), A. Marryatt, F. J. Courtney, M. F. Luckie, W. J. Organ, and S. Brown. Apologies were received from Mr. C. P. Skerrett and Mr. J. Fuller, jun., who are at present in Auckland. The draft annual report was considered. Various _ alterations were made, and it was decided to hold the annual meeting on a date during the present month when tho president (Mr. 0. P. Skerrett) can attend. The following nominations 'were made in connection with tho coming election by tho branches of the board of control:—President, Sir George Clifford, Bart.; vice-president, Mr. C. P. Skerrett, K.C.; hon. treasurer, Mr. Lan G. Duncan; members,. Hon. Dr. Collins, M.L.C., Dr. A. K. Newman, M.P., Messrs. J. H. B. Coates and C. W. Tringliam.
