Tlio New Zealand Wax Vesta' Company's factory at Cavft'sham was totally destroyed by fire tliis morning. • Tlio outI. reak was discovered at J.lO a.m., but the firo had then a strong hold, and though both the city and Cavershnm brigades attended nothing was saved. The insurances amount, it is understood, to ,£ISOO, ill the Victoria and Royal Exchange offices, but the loss is estimated at ,£llOO more. There was about .£SO worth of matches on the premises. AVork was stopped at noon oil Saturday, and nobody had been in the buildings since. The origin oi' the lire is a complete mystery.
