A single man named Archibald Elliott, who comes from Tirnaru, was driving tho mail coach out to llougotea from Palmersion late on Saturday afternoon, and when about a mile .from Ilongotea was seen by two inside passengers (0 get doivn off his box.- On attempting to return to his sear, tho horses, apparently startled at something, plunged, knocked Elliott down, and then bolted. The passengers' could not see all that happened, and had enough to .do to look after themselves, for the coach was overturned shortly after, aud both of them thrown out on the road and considerably bruised. Deceased had been ailing for some time past, and luul been attended by Dr. Robei-Uni, who is at present out of town. Slie 1-ad been in the Home for about two years, and in February last suft'erod a paralytic stroke, and on Saturday she had another stroke. An inriuest is to be held at ths Court-house, at 1) o'clock this morning.
