TERRITORIAL FJA"ED £2. (By Telegraph.—Prca3 Association.! Auckland, May 11. A Territorial named George Edwards fl'hahlstrom was fined .£2, with 30s. costs, At the Police Court to-day, on a charge pf having assaulted a non-commissioned officer. Tlio .evidence showed that the sergeant taxed ' the accused . with smoking' in tlio fanks. The accused, ; f(or parade, struck t'he non-com. in the drill hall, but was stopped by another officer. The accused then had "a walcli set, and attacked him aga.in as he left by the back way. The accused denied smnkilijr ill the ranks, and witness said that he was struck by the assaulted ofliccr when in the hall.
