NOTICE TO MARINERS. 1 Tokomaru Bay Lights—The Waiapu County Council haß notified the Marino Department that tho leading-lights in Tokomaru Bay (Notice No. 14 of 1912) have been considerably increased in power, .as electric light lias now been installed. Tho front red linht (99ft. in height above high water, 150 yards from, the beach) shows quite distinctly in clear weather for a distance of 10 miles, and the rear white light (162 ft. abovo high water, 224 yards from tho beach) shows up well in clear weather for a ciistanco of 15 miles.' Thed'O lights aro in line with one another bearing 291 degrees (N. 84 degrees W. magnetic), and the line produced passes through Marotiri (1503 feet). The beacons have been erected to indicato as nearly oh possiblo the middle of tho stretoh of water between Hikutu Rock anil tho end of the reef projecting from Kotunui Point. - ' Tho o.rc of visibility of theso lights wjII b'o 64 degrees, from 261 degrees (S. 81_ degrees W. mdrmetic) to '325 degrees (N. 35 dom-ees W. magnetic), and in very clear weather they may oometimes be seen for 16 and 19 miles respectively.
