Hirschberg, V/. Kemp, E. P. Moiuitfort, J. B. Nicol, H. C. Robinson, M. li. Varnham, Mesdames J. 0. Cooper, D. M- Graham, It. W. Harden, E. li. Howell, J. Ji. Moodie, A. li> ilorgan, G. W. Sellar, R. 0. Smith, 11. T. Wood, and Miss Paytou; auditor, Mr. A. D. Low; secretary aud treasurer, Mr. 11. M. Boddiugton. An amendment of tho rules was agreed to: "That members paying 10s. per annum receive four tickets," and that members paying ss. per annuiy receive two tickets." Ij; was decided to recommend to tho incoming committee that lectures on fruit and flower culture should be arranged, also tho reinstating of the cottage garden competition; that tho prize money for collections of fruit, floWers, and vegetables be increased; and that tho judging of fruit, etc., bo on points. The Masterton District High School Committee last night passed a voto of appreciation to Mr. G. I{. ■ Srkes, M.l 5 ., for assistance rendered in connection with ,tlw recout school excursion to' Wclling- • ton. • Mr. J. Wise, of Eketatiuna, has been appointed secretary to the Bush Districts Cheese Factories' Association, of which Mr. S. Priest is president. At tho monthly meeting of tho Masterton District High School Committee this week, it was decided to place on record tho committee's appreciation of tho Eervices rendered in tho secondary department by Miss E. Williams, who has been appointed to the Lower Hutt District High School. Tho headmaster reported tho average attendance at tho Main School to bo 5"/2, with a percentage of attendances of 1)1. The Education Board wroto intimating that the representatives of the committee in regard to tho payment of higher salaries to thp teachers in secondary departments of district high schools would bo brought, under the notice of tho Education Department. In tho Magistrate's Court this morning, several charges of breaches of thp Licensing' Act were heard. S. Allen, on a chnrgo of having kept liquor for sale, was fined v£lo and costs. A similar charge against James M'Uac was dismissed. William Gibbons was fined 10s. aiid 20s. respectively for two minor breaches of the Act. 'Three motorists were eacli fined -10s., and costs, in t'lio Magistrate's Court this morning for breaches of tho speed limit A Territorial named T. Burns was filled •1(K for failing to render tho servico required of him under the Defence Act, and a man named Catterick was fined ■10s. for tho theft of a saw.
